The Board of Directors called a special meeting March 29th with Meraki Health CEO/owner, Sarah Weiler to discuss the layout and construction of the playground to be installed at Newton Limitless. The Limitless Fund Board and Meraki Health have agreed to partner with the funding of the playground to ensure the target completion date of this Summer can be achieved pending availability of equipment from the manufacture. The Limitless Fund will be using the remainder of the funds that have been donated towards this project and then reallocated additional funds from the general fund to bring the playground fund up to $25,000. Meraki Health will contribute the remaining funds required to build out the playground area and equipment required. This allocation will bring the total contributed to the Newton Limitless playground project through your donations to $32,408.00. Logical Construction owned and operated by Aaron Mason has agreed to volunteer his labor towards the construction of the fence, concrete, playground, and equipment helping save with labor cost. We will be seeking additional volunteers to assist with the projects construction in the future. If you are able and willing to help in any way please contact us at [email protected] or by calling 618-769-3600. Below are some of the items discussed for the playground equipment and does not represent the exact equipment that will be purchased. All equipment and the placement of the equipment will be decided in consultation with the Meraki Health clinical team to ensure its optimal use towards treatment goals and physical activities.

10/21/2022 0 Comments Playground Update and recent donationsPlayground updateThe past several weeks has seen great progress made on the playground as we are working with local business partners to prepare the ground. The parking lot has been extended and the ground work has been completed for the walk path. The materials have been ordered and we have worked with MasterHalco out of Olney for discounted fencing as well as CCI RediMix out of Effingham to provide concrete at their cost (courtesy of the Newton plant). We continue to move forward with this project as we are excited to bring this new area to the Newton Limitless Program. Recent DonationsThank you to the awareness brought by Limitless Fund board President, Amanda Bowen, her employer, Schneider Trucking graciously made a $2,500 donation to our general fund in September. This was a truly unexpected donation that caught us all off guard. We are very thankful for their generosity and willingness to help the Limitless Program
Today we were presented with a $2,013 check from the St. Thomas church in Newton that was raised through their picnic and raffle. This donation was also one that we were not expecting as we were selected by the church as one of their recipients of their donation. We appreciate the support shown to our program from the church. On Friday, August 26th members of the Limitless Fund board met with the Limitless Program director and the general contractor to discuss the layout of the playground. After a productive meeting the finalized layout for the fence perimeter was agreed upon. Over the next few weeks the team will work on getting quotes and placing orders for materials to begin the construction of the concrete walking path and fence. At this time there is no timeline to pass along for the playground's completion date as there are several factors that play into the projects timeline.
